Carpenters (2) - Round 20

Angela couldn't believe how big little Analeigh was getting already!  It was amazing how fast kids grew up!

Despite James best efforts, Aidan had started struggling at school.  Giving Aidan a hug hello, James looked him in the eye and asked, "Do you have any homework to do this afternoon?"

Aidan cocked his head to the side and grinned, "Nope. No homework!"

James nodded, "Okay. You can play until it starts to get dark, then come inside for dinner."

Aidan ran over to his puppy that had destroyed his homework.  "Good boy! Want to play fetch?!"

Angela tiptoed out of the room early the next morning to prepare breakfast.  She couldn't wait to tell James she was expecting again. He was going to be so excited!

Aidan looked at his pile of homework and sighed.  Maybe it was time to ask for help from Dad.  He was going to get in trouble soon.  His teacher had told him if he didn't do all his homework tonight, then they were going to arrange a parent-teacher conference.  Man, Dad would be so mad!

"How could you lie to me about having no homework like that for weeks?" James demanded.  "This is very irresponsible behavior. I expected more from you, Aidan."

Aidan had been wrong.  Dad wasn't just mad.... he was also disappointed.  And for some weird reason, that made Aidan feel even worse!

"I just feel like I could've done something more," James told Angela over dinner after sending Aidan to bed.

Angela squeezed James hand.  "You did what you could.  He's getting older & we're going to have to start letting him understand consequences."

Welcome to the world little Miss Cecelie!

Angela was right.  Aidan was growing up fast.  And if he didn't learn there were consequences to his actions, then he was going to be in a world of trouble!

And true to form, the first thing he did after his birthday party was throw a party with his school friends.

Mary McMillan was bored.  "This is boring! Let's spice it up! We can play truth or dare!  Annie!" she called, "Truth or Dare?"

Annie laughed, "Ummm... dare..."

Mary thought really hard.  "Okay, go kiss Aidan!"

Aidan let out a shocked yelp.  "WHAT?" he demanded.

Annie grinned.  "Come on, you can't make me miss my dare!"

"You're not embarrassed, are you?" Quincy teased.

Nervously, Aidan stood up.  "Of course I'm not embarrassed!"   Leaning forward, he gave Annie a chaste kiss on the lips.  "See?!"

Aidan looked around the room & was mortified that everyone seemed to be chuckling at him.

Quincy shook his head, "That was the lamest kiss I've ever seen, dude."

Man, being a teenager was hard stuff! Aidan thought wryly.

(Cecelie became a cute a as a button toddler)

(Analeigh became a beautiful little girl)
