Alec didn't know what to say. It was true. He was letting his daughter down.
"You have nothing to say?" Shannon demanded. "You love Brittany, don't you?"
Alec thought about it. He did love Brittany, but what if it didn't last? Then what would he do? "You don't understand! I want what Mom & Dad have. I want what you have. But, what if I'm not capable of feeling that way! What if I'm jaded from dating too many people in college?"
Shannon scoffed. "I think you're making excuses. You get what you put in. If you love her and love your baby, then you'll go be a part of their life!"
"Whatever, I have to get to work," Shannon grumbled. "It's your life! Do what you want..."
Michelle wiped a tear from her eye and smiled, "He packed everything up this morning and said he had to do what was right. He went to be with Brittany and our beautiful granddaughter Rosa!"
Shannon smiled. "Good for him," as he hugged his wife tight.
