Downies - Round 13

Regina sat in her throne and idly drummed her fingers on her knees.  Gunnar had slipped away after getting on the school bus somehow and her idiot lackeys had not been able to find him.  She was infuriated that he'd managed to escape her.

But, with the human out of the way, she would be able to focus on enlarging her circle of lackeys.  Once they fell in love with her, they'd be willing to do anything for her... anything...

Picking up the phone, she called her facilitator.  "Come now.  I have use for you."

The gypsy deserved every penny she received.  She'd found a fledgling vampire that was in need of... instruction.  It would be easy to train him and control him.  She would need to watch his powers, though and make sure he could not outmatch her.

For now, she offered him a safe haven and supposed devotion.

Clay was amazed by the woman before him.  When the gypsy had told him that she knew of someone who could help him, he'd been suspicious about a trap.  But, it seemed like Regina was the real deal!  She was just like him and could help him learn what he was supposed to do!  And she was so easy to talk to! They stayed together all night, kissing, hugging and talking about their future.

Regina laughed to herself at how easy it would be to control him.  He still had his mortal desire to father six children.  She would have to spawn more babies, but what was 6 years in the face of a lifetime.  And it made her almost giddy to imagine how powerful her full-blooded children would be...

Regina manipulated Clay into the bed and pretended to swoon with his touch...

First, she had to take back her ring from Benjamin.  He was shocked, but eventually understood that it was her will.  He left without causing a scene.

Regina waited impatiently, dropping hints to Clay that they should join their lifeblood before the baby was born.  Regina secretly hoped the mingling of the blood would help cement the power while the baby lived inside of her.

But, he finally took he hint...

She rewarded him for eventually bending to her will...

"Gunnar!" Regina snapped. "What are you doing here?  This is not your home anymore?'

Gunnar heard a hiss and looked past his Mother and saw a pale stranger by the doors.  "Is this who did this to you?"
Gunnar threw himself at the stranger and began pummeling him.  He let all of his bottled rage loose towards this person that might've been the ruin of his family.

"Master Pai! He's just a boy!" the butler cried.  "Stop now before you kill him!"

Reeves helped the boy up and pushed him towards the door.  "Go boy! Leave!"  Reeves glanced frightfully between Mistress Regina and Count Clay, fearing that he might be punished for daring to help the boy.

Gunnar straightened up, feeling sore all over.  Glaring at the stranger and then his mother, he grabbed his bookbag that he'd left by the front door and ran into the woods.

Clay looked down at his hands, which were quivering.  "I almost killed him..." he whispered.  "I didn't realize I was that strong... I was just trying to make him stop..."

From behind the veil of life, Don watched Regina's new husband attack his son.  He cursed his transparent form that kept him intervening and showing that pansy a thing or two.  He cheered when Reeves pushed him to the door.  He knew Gunnar would never step foot in this house again, but he was at peace with that fact since he knew Gunnar would be safe.  (I've never seen a ghost get aspiration points when their child went off to college... The +1,000 point floated over Don's head as he drifted from the livingroom to the bedroom...)

Finally Don learned to control his form and was able to make himself visible at times.  His new goal would be to kill every descendent in this family...

...

... Every descendent in this cursed family...

  1. Yay for Gunnar leaving...that Don can't get rid of his criminal tendencies even from beyond the grave. Once in my game a boy came home from school showing off his A to his mother's grave...the mother was hutning during a day time thunderstorm. It is amazing sometimes in this game what the ghosts do...
