Sim State University, Class 09!
Joshua hugged her tight. "I did it, baby! I got in!"
"I've been wanting to do that since 7th grade," she gloated.
Tyler was surprised. Veronica had never shown any interest in him before. But, wow! She could kiss!
(What? A scorching kiss like that & neither one of them are in love. Geez! Veronica... you're going to be a trouble maker, aren't you?!)
Susie Hart found Gunnar and flirted with him. "I'm surprised you made it! You missed almost the last half of the semester!"
Gunnar shrugged. "I got a scholarship."
"Oh yeah? For what?!"
Gunnar felt uncomfortable. "My Dad died..."
Susie' felt awful. "Oh Gunnar! I'm so sorry!" Grabbing his hand, she kissed it. "Do you forgive me?"
Gunnar pulled his hand back. "No big deal. Have you seen Ellen?"
Susie shrugged. "Yeah, I thought I saw her messing with one of her professors..."
Sauntering over, she looked him up and down. "Must be hard work streaking around in nothing," she teased.
"Hey, it's harder than it looks." He said, then checked her out. "You should try it some time. Just make sure you give me a call."
"And there's not datable guys in the dorm!" Ellen added.
"Amen to that, sister!" Veronica pouted.
Susie blushed. "I don't know about that. Gunnar's pretty handsome."
Ellen & Veronica made eye contact and then looked the other way. Susie must not have known the score if she thought Gunnar was marriage material.
Ellen reached across the table, "Listen, Susie. Gunnar... well... he isn't going to settle down."
Veronica snorted. "Been there, done that!"
Susie glanced down quickly. "Yeah, I knew that. Of course!"
He just smiled kindly. "I'm happy to help." Glancing around the busy computer room. "Do you think there might be somewhere we could talk a little bit more privately?"
Ellen shrugged. "Sure, we can go in my room."
Veronica waved away Gunnar's concerns. "Hah, you think just because he hit junior year he's going to go all Family sim on me? No, that pleasure-seeking Tyler I know is still in there! But, I do like the look of you, too..."
"No sweat, sugar." She ambled away.
The matchmaker sniffed. "You want pretty girl, you give me pretty money."
"Fine. Here!" Gunnar shoved the money at her and waited impatiently.
Gunnar was surprised and did a double-take. "Did you just say this is my 50th date?" For a moment he felt proud, but then he just felt empty. All those girls... he didn't even remember their names.. no happy memories of them.
"Shut up! We're trying to watch the movie!"
"Oh! Forgive me! I'm sorry to interrupt. Is this a date?"
Tyler just laughed and reached for Veronica's hand.
She turned around and hissed, "Gunnar! Beat it! I'm serious!"
"Hey! I'm just dancing with a pretty lady!"
Veronica rolled her eyes. "Try to keep up, bad boy!"
"Of course!" Dana gushed. "I'm so excited! Wait until I tell my mom!"
Tyler was a good man, dependable, smart, kind. He'd back her up no matter what she decided to do with her life. But, she knew he wouldn't tolerate her catting around. He'd caught him Mom with a lover the day before he came to college & she knew he was dreading going home.
And Gunnar. There was so much she didn't know about him. He'd always been so secretive and closed off. He was a just a good time personified.
She just needed a little bit more time to think about it...
Ellen blinked. "What do you mean?"
The Professor just smiled. "I was kind of hoping you'd take me home with you..."
"Oh my God," Veronica said. Make him stand up, make him stand up, she fervently wished. Please don't say it!
"...Will you marry me?"
Veronica stared at the ring like a deer in the headlights. Perfect analogy, she thought. She felt like she'd just been hit by a two-ton truck.
Nervously, Tyler held the ring out for her to look at. Maybe he should've done this when no one else was around.
"... Yes... "
Tyler jumped up. "Yes? You'll marry me!" Turning to the group of large, he cheered, "She said YES!"
Veronica looked back and met Gunnar's eyes. She winced as he just shrugged and went inside.
Adam absently kissed her on the cheek. "Had to eat something quick. Gotta go!"
Jody held up a finger. "In a minute, Adam. I've almost finished this chapter."
Adam shook his hips. "But I'm a hunk of burnin' love, baby..."
Jody tried not to giggle. "Seriously Adam. I'm almost finished..."
Jody slammed the book shut. "There! Done! Finished! Race you to the bed Hunka!"
Adam shouted, "Hey! No fair! You got a head start!" Then caught her dress as it hit him in the head. He quit complaining and hurried after her.
"Are you ready for the wedding tomorrow? I'm going to wrap you up extra tight tonight to make sure you don't get any cold feet," Adam joked.
Adam went to hug Carlye, "Moooom..." he said. At the last minute he pulled back and held his hand out for an awkward handshake since she was looking at him like he was crazy. Okay, no hugging yet, he thought.
Brandi wiped the tears from her eyes. "I'd thought you were dead. You should have called!"
"I know, Mom. I was just so shocked to find out that I'd... changed... And then it took me awhile to get used to it, to build my glen. And there's something else I want to show you..."
She walked up to Amy and hugged her fiercely. "Be happy. That's what I want for you the most."
"I love you, Mom," Amy said. "Thanks for understanding."
Wilbur jerked up. "Who's there?"
"It's me, Amy."
Wilbur came closer and studied her. "What happened to you?" he asked, with a touch of wonder in his voice.
"I'm free! I used to worry about what other people thought... but here... I'm surrounded by nature and I am loved!"
Wilbur glanced around the lot. It was too dark to see everything. But, to see Amy smile. It was beautiful. He thought about all the heart ache he'd been through in college- being passed over by all the girls. He wondered what it would be like to live here in a simple, beautiful world... and to be loved.
"You are loved," she told him.
Startled, he stepped back. Before him stood a man where a baby had stood before.
He glanced at Amy and back to Rodhun. "What?"
Amy hugged Rodhun.
Rodhun glanced at his hands and checked his toes. It felt interesting to grow so big, so fast. It was almost as though he could feel himself grow.
Wilbur made his excuses and left. He'd been to startled to ask Amy his question. There were too many unknowns. To age from a baby to a man in a moment's time. What happened when someone became old? Would Amy turn brown and wither away? How long of a lifetime would they have together?
Kneeling, he proposed marriage to her and asked her to take his last name.
Wilbur worried again. Would she have a human baby... a mixed baby? Would she be healthy? Would the baby be healthy? Wilbur wished he knew the answers...
Wilbur toyed with his food. "They'll eat, but they don't need to. Amy says that sometimes she craves a bowl of macaroni like she ate when she was human."
Mason nodded. "Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Do you ever wish you were... you know.. a Plant Sim too?"
Wilbur sighed. "Sometimes I wish I was a Plant Sim. But Amy says it's not for me. That it's not in my future. My duty is to our baby..."
Wilbur was asking Cennan if he planned on spawning a baby. "So, how do you know when it's time to spawn a baby?" Wilbur asked.
Cennan shrugged. "Just as the trees know when it's time to release their spores... and the bees know where to collect the honey. When it is time... I will spawn a baby to raise and love."
