Downies - Round 8

Nancy was worried about Audrey.  It wasn't right to be growing up like this...

And Audrey was an amazing little girl.  So sweet and kind.  Nancy changed her diaper and rocked her in her arms.  "Mommy needs to get dinner ready, now!" she said as she put Audrey down.

Just then she heard the door burst open and she saw a man in a scary outfit storm in.  "Where's dinner?" he asked sourly as she screamed.

Don glared at her.  "What the hell is your problem? Quit screaming," he admonished her.

Nancy took a few deep breaths and tried to calm her racing heart.  She'd just realized that Don wasn't everything he said he'd been.  And that meant it was time to put her plan into action.

Trying to smile, Nancy turned away and said, "It'll be ready in just a little bit.  Why don't you go take a nap?"

Don stretched and scratched his belly.  "That does sound good. Keep the brat out of the room."

Nancy's hands shook as she cleaned the sink, praying she didn't have to turn around. She was sure he would see straight through her.   She heard his steps disappear into the room and soon heard him snoring.

Nancy went in the room and grabbed up Audrey and cuddled her.  "It's going to be okay, sweetie," she promised.

Don woke up after night fell and heard his stomach rumble.  "Dang it, Nancy! Why didn't you wake me up? You know how grumpy I get after a long nap!"

Silence.

"Nancy! I'm calling you!" he yelled.

Silence.

Don quickly searched the house and didn't see Nancy or the brat.  Turning on his heel, he ran to the bedroom to check on the statue.

Gone.  "NANCY!" he roared in anger.  Quickly dressing, he called over his new minions.  It pleased him to see that Sheldon no longer felt he had any sway over him.

"She's gone missing with my statue.  Go out and find her."

"Yes, sir," they answered quickly.  Then, swiftly they ran outdoors and began looking through the bushes around the house before turning towards the dark woods behind them.

Almost a month had passed and Nancy had not been returned to him, yet.  Daily he railed at his minions for their inability to produce her.

"She has to be somewhere!" he yelled.  "Somebody has seen her! Find her or I'll deal with you all myself!"

Not only had she stolen from him, but she was making him look bad to his minions as well.  She would have a lot to answer to when she returned.

Feeling hedged in, Don jumped up and went in to locked room that held his treasures.  Being surrounded by all of his spoils relaxed him.

He'd heard from his minions that there was a woman who might know where Nancy was.  It turned out that she had lied to meet him.

"Do you know what happens to people when they lie to me?" he ground out.  "Do you know who I am?"

The mystery lady had simply cooed and said, "There's no need to be modest! You're the ultimate evil one & you're dead sexy."

Don had decided to amuse himself with her.  His thoughts were not on the woman laying beside him in the bed, but instead was on his wife, the woman who had run away.  She'll rue the day she ever crossed paths with me, he thought bitterly.  She'll get what's coming to her...

  1. Yay, Nancy went away! I still think she wasn't so much smart to follow Don, but, well... I'm happy she's gone with the baby :)!

  3. Whew....good job Nancy getting away. I hope she can stay hidden with little Audrey. Hmm...I'm guessing that's Regina in his bed.
